UX/UI design project
The brief
We were tasked to fully redesign and redevelop the user journey for a very complex, data heavy, long-standing web based application.
The key requirements were to make the whole experience faster, easier to pickup and work with - especially for new users - while keeping critical information visible and accessible.
The solution
As with all UX/UI design projects we started with a full overview of the existing solution.
Before any designing began we first made extensive notes on what worked, what could be improved, what was missing and what was critical to both the user and the client.
To us this is the most important step - as without a clear understanding of what is required - any design at this stage would be pointless.
Only once we were all happy did we proceed to the initial design stage of the project.
The creative
Starting with trusty pen and paper we began by sketching out low-fidelity wireframes - which allowed us to form the structure and key elements of the application a lot quicker and easier than going straight to digital designs.
Once the initial sketched wireframes were approved we moved onto developing these into high level designs in Figma.
Each area of the application was laid out step-by-step and every key feature and function was clearly annotated and explained. This makes the final UX/UI solution a lot clearer and easier to follow for the client.
